ISDC98 Photos by R Perry

These images were taken at ISDC98 in Milwaukee. The quality of some has suffered due to flashgun failure.

All images are stored in Kodak PhotoCD, allowing normal image processing to be applied.

The images which the thumbnails link to are in 'Base' resolution. The PhotoCD format also provides two higher levels of resolution (the highest being beyond my 32Meg RAM ability to work with). The next higher level is available for processing work, since the Base images are really pretty rough. The images on these pages were slightly sharpened, and then compressed at about 30% JPEG, so again there is a quality loss. But the colour balance and depth has not been played with, so these images are suitable for further processing if you desire.

For display purposes, it is recommended that you try reducing the colour depth to 256 colours to see if your viewer's dither function can produce a better image (some do, some don't). Two-pass Floyd Steinberg appears to work very well if you have one of those knocking around the place (thats an image filter, not a pianoforte).

Anyone who wants some processed images (haircut, nose-job etc) should get in contact, and I'll see what I can do. I can also do zooms and extracts on small portions of the images, to produce images of products etc.

Anyone with a bio on the ADB is urged to update their page with a new thumbnail, perhaps based on one of these images.
